Adrift in Tokyo
From the golden duo of Satoshi Miki and Joe Odagiri, who brought us IN THE POOL, and the Japanese TV series, Jikou Kesatsu(Out-Law Police), comes a mysterious “road trip” movie about walking across Tokyo!
Synopsis
Leading a life of debauchery, Fumiya has been a university student for eight years and owes money to loan sharks. One day, a man called Fukuhara suddenly appears at Fumiya’s apartment. Naturally, he has come to collect the loan, which Fumiya cannot pay. So Fukuhara makes Fumiya a proposition. He will cancel the debt and give him one million yen in cash as long as Fumiya agrees to walk with him across Tokyo to Kasumigaseki. The following day, Fumiya heads with skepticism towards Inokashira Park for the rendezvous, and Fukunaga does in fact appear. This begins their journey together as life wanders on.
Based on the original work by Naoki Prize winner Yoshinaga Fujita, and from the tag team of Satoshi Miki and Joe Odagiri, who brought us "IN THE POOL", and "Jikou Kesatsu", comes a fascinating and humorous movie capturing various encounters on a walking trip across Tokyo.
